Recently at the Golden State Warriors playoff basketball game, there was a highly entertaining half time show featuring dogs doing all sorts of tricks on scooters, wagons, and various other items. More and more it seems pets are being incorporated more into the sporting world—and not just as performers. These days you can literally take your dog out to the ballgame!
A number of teams and sporting venues are now having promotion nights where you can bring your dog with you to the game. Case in point: The Los Angeles Dodgers are again having a Bark in the Park night at Dodger Stadium. The event will be held on May 11, 2013, and is sponsored by Natural Balance. Fans that purchase a ticket to the right field pavilion are allowed to bring their dogs to the game. Before the game, there is a pup rally followed by the dogs and their owners parading around the outfield. Then, the dogs get to go up to the pavilion with their owners.
I remember the first time I went to one of these games. It was a lot of fun to see how many dogs were on the field. During the game, I took a close look at the pavilion with my binoculars and could see all the dogs taking in the game. But the amusing part was seeing how by the later innings, all the doggies had gone home. I guess they all had early bedtimes!
